Frequently asked questions

What it costs, how customers buy, and what happens to your files.

Plug is in active development and payments are not live yet. The storage allowances below are enforced today; the fees and plan prices are the current direction and are not final.

How long does setup actually take?
Publishing a storefront with a product or link and a template takes about five minutes — that is the whole of onboarding. Uploading several products and writing your own copy realistically takes closer to thirty. You can publish first and add the rest later. There is no payment account to connect, because payments are not live yet.
What does Plug cost?
Nothing today. Payments are not live, so no sale can complete and no fee has ever been taken from anyone. The shape when they do go live: Free keeps a percentage of each sale, Pro waives that fee entirely at $50/month, and Elite's rate is not set. Elite's price is not decided yet, the paid plans are not open for sign-up, and the exact percentages will be published before anyone is charged.
How much file storage do I get?
Every plan uploads to Plug's own storage. There is nothing to connect and no external link to keep alive, on any plan. Free is 100 MB in total across all your products, Elite is 100 GB and Pro is 500 GB. Deleting a product gives its space back, and no single file may exceed 5120 GB — or your whole allowance, if that is smaller.
Do my customers need an account to buy?
No. Checkout asks for an email address and nothing else, and the download link is sent straight to it. Afterwards they can turn that into an account from the link in their email, which keeps every purchase in one library instead of one inbox search per file.
How do customers get their files?
Files are held in private storage and are never exposed at a public URL. When a customer downloads, Plug checks their purchase record against the email address that bought it and issues a signed link that expires about a minute later.
Can a customer re-download something later?
Yes, as often as they need. Access does not expire and downloads are not capped. Their library re-issues a fresh link each time, and they can ask for a new library link by email whenever they lose the old one.
Who handles refunds?
Nothing can be refunded yet, because nothing can be paid for. The rule in the Terms is that a creator handles their own customers, and that digital products are delivered immediately and so are generally not refundable. There is no refund control in the dashboard today; how refunds will work is one of the things published before anyone is charged.
Can I change template later?
Yes, at any time. Your content, products, pricing and links are stored separately from the template, so switching never asks you to re-enter anything.
Who is the seller — me or Plug?
You are. Checkout happens on your storefront, under your handle, and the Terms put the sale, the customer relationship and the tax obligations with you. Plug is the platform you sell through.
