How Plug handles money, files and ownership
The parts worth understanding before you sell something through a platform you didn't build.
Payments are not live yetPlug does not process payments during the beta, so priced products cannot be bought and no card details are collected from anyone. Free products work normally. When payments do go live they will run through a payment provider whose own hosted fields take the card, and the fees and refund rules will be published before anyone is charged.
Files are delivered privatelyUploads sit in private object storage, never behind a public URL. A download is only issued after Plug confirms a valid purchase record, and the link it hands out is signed and short-lived.
Creators own their workYour content, customers and pricing are yours. Templates frame what you make rather than branding it as ours, and switching template never asks you to re-enter your content.
Clear limits on what can be soldPlug does not check up front that you own what you list — requiring proof before publishing would not stop anyone determined. Listing something is instead a binding promise that you have the right to sell it, and breaking that promise breaks the Terms. Unlawful products, anything that sexualises minors, deception, piracy and malware are not permitted, and a credible report can get a listing taken down while it is looked at.
Plug is in active development and this page describes intended behaviour, not a contract. The Terms and Privacy Policy are the binding documents once published.
